Biography

 

Asher was born in Israel on June 12, 1970, in the small town of Migdal HaEmek.

 

He started playing drums at an early age. Recognizing his immense talent, Asher began his professional studies with private teachers as a teenager.

 

During these early years, he played in nightclubs and formed his first teenage band.

 

At the age of 18, he moved to Tel Aviv, where he became involved with numerous local groups while establishing himself as one of the most sought-after studio players.

 

Throughout his career, Asher worked with many of the most famous artists in the Israeli music industry and mastered a wide range of musical styles. He performed and recorded with prominent Israeli musicians, including rock artists Shalom Hanoch, Alon Oleartchik, Shlomo Artzi, and Yehuda Poliker, Middle Eastern music artists Sarit Hadad and Shlomi Shabat, and well-known pop star Rita, among many others.

 

During his 35 years as a professional musician, he recorded more than 1,200 albums.

 

Throughout his career, Asher was a member of several popular Israeli TV talk-show bands.

 

He maintained a consistent presence on Israeli television, performing in television specials and contributing to soundtracks for commercials and TV shows. He also participated in numerous soundtracks for Israeli films and theatrical productions, leaving behind a prolific body of work.

 

In 2000, Asher specialized in jazz and Latin music at the New York Drummer Collective.

 

Asher toured with many popular concert acts throughout his career.

 

He performed on special blues projects with American artists Hiram Bullock, Darryl Jones, Eddie King, and Long John Hunter.

 

In the summer of 2011, Asher worked on a major rock collaboration concert featuring Shlomo Artzi and Shalom Hanoch, two of Israel's most popular and successful artists.

 

Through 2015, Asher worked with Eyal Golan, a celebrated Israeli pop artist. They performed together around the world, including tours in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

 

In 2016, Asher moved with his wife and their three children to Los Angeles, California. He became involved in the local music scene, performing and recording with various artists while continuing to build his reputation as a musician.

 

Asher recorded an original instrumental CD with his best friend and bass player, Avi Yifrah. They wrote the music and performed on the album alongside well-known musicians, including guitarist Oz Noy and others. The album was titled The Avi Yifrah / Asher Fedi Project.

 

In 2018, Asher signed an endorsement deal with Zildjian Cymbals, becoming the first Israeli artist to represent the prestigious and internationally recognized cymbal company.

 

Asher was a highly skilled musician with a wide range of experience and versatility in all aspects of music, which made him stand out in both recording and performance projects.

 

After a two-year battle with cancer, Asher passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 55, at his home in Los Angeles, surrounded by his loving wife and children.
